Who we are...

JANET TANSLEY

journalist for 33 years, 28 of which were spent at the Liverpool Echo, I began my career there as a news reporter, before moving on to work in the features department where I had a variety of roles including women's editor and features editor.

My greatest passion was - is - for writing, focusing on human interest and topical news features, as well as fashion and beauty.

In fact, think of a subject and I have probably written about it, such is the necessity to be able to write about anything and everything.
Used to working to deadlines where speed is of the essence, I can turn copy round quickly and accurately, and adopt a more formal or informal style or tone, depending on what is needed. The ever-increasing move to online media means the skills I have honed throughout those years have evolved to suit all platforms, including yours!

orking as a journalist with the Liverpool Echo I have, for the past 18 years, focused on features writing with an emphasis on human interest and celebrity.

I have also contributed to fashion and beauty content including heading up coverage of the Aintree Grand National for the past decade.
In that time I have developed what I hope is an imaginative and informative reader-friendly style across a wide spectrum of subjects – from current affairs issues to lifestyles and entertainment spanning the bedroom tax to Bake Off and pretty much everything in between.
The shift to a digital-first newsroom has meant using those interviewing and writing skills to produce concise, instantly engaging copy which can be easily adapted across various platforms, including articles specifically targeted towards social media.
